6 Tracks – 30 Finalists

Energy Tech Challengers (formerly New Energy Challengers (NEC)) identifies and brings the world’s top energy, transport and sustainability startups together on one stage to compete for equity free money prize, the attention of global media and 100+ VC’s and CVC’s.

Companies competed in six main tracks contributing to the sustainable energy transition – Batteries, Hydrogen, E-Mobility, Digitalization, Automation & AI, Future Grid.

Results

10 companies will be chosen in each of the six tracks by a distinguished panel of industry-leading experts from leading corporations, venture capital, ecosystem builders and green media partners. The ETC60 will be pitching virtually during the Energy Tech Summit 2021 (April 28-29, 2021).

5 companies will be shortlisted in each track and pitching virtually during the Energy Tech Challengers closing event, due in September 2021, offering valuable media and PR attention, as well as vast networking opportunities.

One single company will be announced as the ultimate winner of Energy Tech Challenger 2021 award. In addition, top companies for each track will be awarded with prizes.

ENTRY CRITERIA

There is no geographical limitation for application, companies from all around the world are encouraged to apply if they meet the below minimum criteria:

- from Seed to Series B growth stage
- must be a technology company challenging status quo in the energy and mobility sectors
- must have a market ready product (we do not encourage pre-product companies to apply)
- must have revenue or at least minimal traction
- is privately held, often with venture capital investors or bootstrapped
- cannot be a spin-off from large conglomerate
- finalists are required to attend Energy Tech Summit and pitch at ETC in person (C level or Founder level)

EVALUATION CRITERIA

All applications will be assessed with respect to the following criteria:

- PROBLEM (clearness, importance, etc.)
- PRODUCT/SERVICE (core revenue model, differentiation, competition, etc.)
- GO TO MARKET (understanding of target, scalability, etc.)
- PROGRESS/TRACTION (market fit, roadmap, etc.)
- TEAM (experience, competence, balance, etc.)
- FINANCING (potential of securing the next investment, etc.)
